Leah often has contact rashes, so steamed vegetable sticks have been working well. They give her something she can hold cleanly, let her practice chewing, and are easy for her to manage.
Korean Radish Stick
I cut Korean radish into sticks and steamed them for 25 minutes until soft but still easy to hold. Korean radish is one of her favorites. It has a subtle sweetness with a clean flavor. The simple taste and gentle texture seem to suit her palate.
Carrot Stick with Peanut Butter
I steamed carrot sticks for 25 minutes until soft, then lightly spread a little peanut butter on them. Peanut butter adds healthy fat and protein to her meal, and it pairs so well with the natural sweetness of the carrot. I tried to introduce common allergens early on. So far she is not allergic to anything except egg whites. I am hoping she will grow out of that allergy so she can enjoy more dishes with eggs later on.
Beef Risotto
I always keep steamed and blended beef in the fridge. With this, I can make a quick risotto in just a couple of minutes. I mixed the beef with cooked rice and simmered it gently so everything came together nicely. Leah seemed to really enjoy it.
