We’re still deep in this little food adventure, and I’ve been loving the process of introducing new flavors without overcomplicating things. Simple ingredients, just prepared thoughtfully. It’s been such a joy watching my baby explore and react to each new bite.
Avocado and Cilantro
Avocado is something I serve often. It’s creamy, full of healthy fats, and super easy to mash up. I just added a light sprinkle of chopped cilantro on top. It adds a fresh little kick without being too bold, and makes it feel a bit more interesting than plain avocado.
Cabbage
I steamed the cabbage until soft, then chopped it into fine pieces. Cooking brings out its natural sweetness. It’s easy on the stomach and feels nourishing in a comforting way. The texture still has a bit of presence, which makes it more interesting.
Mushroom, chicken, and cauliflower patties
I sauteed ground chicken, added finely chopped mushrooms and steamed cauliflower for 12 minutes. Mixed in a spoonful of ground oats to help bind it all together. Shaped the mixture into small patties and baked at 350°F for about 15 minutes.
The mushrooms add such good flavor, rich but not too strong. The patties turn out tender and easy for little hands to pick up. Definitely a recipe I will be coming back to.
As usual, Leah cleaned the plate!
